Paul Royall has been announced as the new Editor of BBC News at Six and BBC News at Ten, after acting as Deputy Editor for the programmes for the past four years.

Royall, who starts his new role July 22, said 'I'm thrilled to be asked to lead these outstanding programmes. Their quality and consistency are evident every day. They are the most watched, with our audiences central to what we do'.
